Perche Creek Body Case: Suspect Appears in Court
A Columbia man accused in connection to the discovery of a woman’s body in Perche Creek made his first court appearance Tuesday in Boone County.
Fifty-three-year-old Andrew Acton appeared virtually from the Boone County Jail on charges of abandonment of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. Prosecutors say surveillance images showed Acton’s pickup truck near the Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area on May 11 with a city trash bin in the truck bed.
Boaters later found a similar trash bin in Perche Creek containing the body of a 47-year-old woman.
Acton was arrested May 18 and remains jailed without bond. His next court hearing is scheduled for June 2.
