the Mexico Bulldogs fell to Orchard Farm 13-3 in five innings via the run rule during the Class 4 State Quarterfinals last night.

the loss ended the Bulldogs’ historic playoff run, denying them their first-ever trip to the state final four.

The No. 9 ranked Bulldogs came out aggressive, jumping to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning behind four consecutive hits, including three straight extra-base hits

Defensive miscues quickly undid Mexico’s early momentum.
The Bulldogs committed four errors, allowing Orchard Farm to capitalize on nine unearned runs over the course of the game.

Mexico’s pitching staff struggled with control, breaking a three-game complete-game streak by walking eight total hitters across three separate pitchers

Orchard Farm responded in the top of the second inning with a five-run outburst to take the lead.

They sealed the run-rule victory in the fourth inning by hanging another seven runs on the board

Brady Fox: In his final game as a Bulldog, the senior contributor hit an RBI double.

Drew DeMint: Delivered a double at the plate and executed a stellar sliding catch in center field, turning it into a double play at first base.

Colton Dickey: Led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.

Zach Jahn: Contributed an RBI single during the first-inning rally.

the Bulldogs finished a memorable season with a 24-12 record and a Class 4 District 7 Championship trophy, marking their first quarterfinal appearance since 2014.
