Bolivar Street Bridge Reopens Ahead of Schedule in Jefferson City

The Bolivar Street bridge over U.S. 50 in Jefferson City is back open to traffic nearly two months ahead of schedule, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The bridge had been closed since early April for a series of upgrades, with completion originally expected in mid-August.

Crews replaced the driving surface, applied a protective coating to the bridge’s substructure, and made sidewalk improvements removing the north-side sidewalk and widening the south-side walkway.

MoDOT says this marks the final project in a broader effort to repair 11 bridges across Jefferson City.
