A Columbia man has been sentenced to prison following a January burglary and high-speed police chase.
Twenty-five-year-old Devin A. Taylor pleaded guilty to five charges, including aggravated fleeing a stop, first-degree property damage, stealing a firearm, and tampering with evidence and a vehicle.
He was not prosecuted on additional charges of armed criminal action and second-degree burglary.
Authorities say Taylor broke into a business on January 14, then led deputies on a pursuit that ended after he crashed into an uninvolved vehicle and ran into a wooded area near the Veterans United campus while carrying a rifle.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison on most charges, with an additional four-year sentence on another count.
