Boone County Cardiology Operations Running Smoothly After One Month

One month after the closure of the Missouri Heart Center, Boone Health has said that their cardiology operations are moving steadily.

Roughly 1,000 patients were seen in the first 2 weeks. They are expecting 3,500 by the end of June.

Patients living in Macon, Mexico and Sedalia can also receive Boone Health’s cardiology services in those areas.

To accommodate for the immense growth, the clinic has hired more than 50 new staff. Since the transition, Boone Health’s cardiology clinic has been able to keep the medical records Missouri Heart was using.

Chief Medical Officer Lana Zerrer says that she is impressed by the way the clinic has grown, and says that they will try to get back to everyone who calls. However, anyone with severe chest pain or urgent clinical need should call 911.
