A Columbia man was arrested Monday for suspected child sex crimes.
Boone County Authorities reportedly conducted an undercover operation online posing as a 16-year-old girl. They report that the decoy got a message from 30-year-old Rifat Hasan Apurba on an online platform that advertises adult sexual connection.
He reportedly stated that he was “cool” with the decoy’s age. He reportedly arranged to meet up with the decoy, at which point officers arrested Apurba, and he stated that he knew what the website was for and planned to pay for illegal sexual acts.
Apurba was charged with Enticement or Attempted Enticement of a Child and was booked into the Boone County Jail without bond.
