One man was arrested Monday in connection with suspected sex crimes in Jefferson City
Jeff City Police Department received a call from a victim that 27-year-old Robert Michael Ferguson shared explicit materials to them without consent.
The victim also said that they believed he was using his position in his church organization to contact minors and send them sexually explicit content.
Authorities say that Ferguson is a former youth minister.
Officers were provided with two of Ferguson’s phones, as well as screenshots of the content discovered on the devices, some of which were sent to multiple people, including the victim who made the report.
Police reported that they spoke with Ferguson and that he alledly admitted to using his position in the church for criminal activity.
Ferguson was charged with Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Nonconsensual Desemmination of Private Sexual Images and Enticement of a Child.
He was booked into the Cole County Jail without bond.
