Ex-Mizzou Student Faces 10 Years After Guilty Plea

A former University of Missouri student has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple domestic assault charges.

Nineteen-year-old Maxwell Warren admitted to assaulting two women in separate incidents on campus last fall, including choking one woman after she rejected his sexual advances.

Under a plea agreement, Warren received two consecutive five-year prison terms but could be released on probation after 120 days if he successfully completes a treatment program.

If granted probation, he must have no contact with either victim and continue mental health and substance abuse treatment. Prosecutors say both victims agreed to the plea deal.
