Columbia Man Jailed for Making Gun Threat

One Columbia man is in custody following an alleged gun threat late Saturday night.

Authorities responded to a call at 11:51 p.m. on Old Us 63 where a victim said that 50-year-old Michael Lee Bourne came to the house uninvited and would not leave until the victim called the police.

Bourne reportedly tried to call the victim multiple times, saying that if law enforcement were at the residence when he returned, he would start shooting. Bourne then sent a video of himself shooting out the window of his car.

While speaking with the victim, Boone County Sheriff’s authorities found Bourne’s car and Bourne threw his gun out his window. The officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested him.

Bourne is now charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Armed Criminal Action, 4th Degree Domestic Assault, Driving While Revoked Or Suspended, and Exceeding the Speed Limit by 26 Miles Per Hour or More.

He is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond.
