Deadly Bar Fight Sentencing

A Cole County man has been sentenced to prison for his role in a deadly fight outside a Jefferson City bar.

Court records show 27-year-old Kamari Alexander Balton received a seven-year sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

Balton pleaded guilty to first-degree involuntary manslaughter in May.

Prosecutors said he recklessly caused the death of a man during a confrontation in August 2024.

Balton was originally charged with second-degree murder following the reported fight.
