High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest

A Kansas man is behind bars after Missouri State Highway Patrol says he led officers on a high-speed chase across Interstate 70 in Cooper County with his two-year-old son inside the vehicle.

Investigators say 36-year-old Jonathan Myles fled from a rest area Tuesday morning, reaching speeds of 96 miles per hour through a construction zone before hitting spike strips about 17 miles later.

Troopers say Myles was arrested after abandoning the disabled SUV.

His toddler was found unrestrained in the back seat and was safely returned to the child’s mother.

Myles faces multiple charges and is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
