A Jonesburg man is behind bars after prosecutors accused him of shooting a 60-year-old man several times during an argument.
77-year-old Roger Fischer has been charged with first-degree assault causing serious physicl injury, two counts of armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Court documents say that the shooting happened on Tuesday at 10:11 a.m., and that the two men began arguing about a hole in a garage door.
Fischer said that the victim began walking toward him in a threatening manner and that he feared for his life as a result, at which point he fired his gun multiple times.
Court documents state an officer believed Fischer drove to the victim’s house in anticipation of an argument.
Court documents state the victim underwent surgery to repair his liver, colon, stomach and bladder.
