Motorcyclist Injured in Boone County
A Centralia man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Boone County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Route U near Ricketts Road when an SUV turning onto the highway pulled into the path of an oncoming Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Troopers say the 42-year-old rider tried to avoid the crash but struck the rear of the SUV and was thrown from the motorcycle.
He was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
Investigators say he was not wearing a helmet.
The SUV driver was not injured, and both vehicles were totaled.
