Thousands Without Power Across Missouri this morning

Thousands of Missouri residents are waking up without power this morning as outages impact communities across the state.

PowerOutage.us reported more than 17,000 customers without electricity as of 5:30 a.m., the highest outage total in the country at that time.

In mid-Missouri, Boone County had nearly 750 customers without power, while the city of Columbia reported nearly 1,500 affected customers.

Outages were reported near Chapel Hill and Fairview roads, as well as Bernadette Drive and Fairview Road.

Utility crews are working to restore service.
