Electrical Fire at Discovery Parkway in Columbia
Columbia Fire crews responded to a structure fire near Discovery Parkway Friday evening.
According to a Columbia Fire Department news release, crews were dispatched just before 5pm to a laboratory facility near Discovery Parkway and Discovery Drive.
The first fire company arrived within four minutes and quickly evacuated employees. Crews noted visible smoke inside one of the labs in the building and were able to quickly extinguish the flames, once they got a 200-foot hose deployed.
An electrical issue was found to be the cause. No injuries were reported.
