Illinois Man Charged in Boone County for Damaging Vehicle with Cargo Van, Chainsaw
An Illinois man was arrested Saturday for using a cargo van and a chainsaw to damage another person’s vehicle at an MU parking garage.
A construction worker repairing the Tiger Avenue Parking Structure reported around 2:25 p.m. Saturday that another vehicle intentionally ran into his personal truck in the structure. The suspect also reportedly used a chainsaw to to saw portions of the vehicle.
The victim estimated his truck’s total damage at around $15,000.
Lukasz Czarnik is charged with first-degree property damage and resisting a felony arrest, according to court documents.
Czarnik reportedly initially resisted arrest by pulling away and rolling onto his back.
He was released from the Boone County Jail Tuesday after posting a $15,000 surety bond.
