The Kansas City Royals defeated the Athletics 9-5 last night at Kauffman Stadium, powered by a stellar offensive display from Bobby Witt Jr. and Jac Caglianone.
The Royals bounced back quickly after an early home run, powered by a huge night from Bobby Witt Jr., who went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, and four runs.

Michael Wacha earned the win, while Steven Cruz escaped a bases-loaded ninth to seal the victory.

The St. Louis Cardinals split a doubleheader on the road against the Cincinnati Reds yesterday, winning the first game 2-1 before dropping the nightcap 6-5 in a 10-inning walk-off loss.

The Cardinals edged the Reds 2–1 in Game 1 behind Alec Burleson’s two-run double in the first inning. Quinn Mathews and the bullpen kept Cincinnati in check, allowing just one run and one hit over the final five innings.
Riley O’Brien then struck out the side in the ninth to earn his NL-leading 31st save.

The Reds rallied from a 4–1 deficit in Game 2 to beat the Cardinals 6–5 in 10 innings.
Cincinnati tied the game in the sixth, then Dane Myers’ two-out pinch-hit homer in the ninth forced extras.
After Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol was ejected in the 10th, Elly De La Cruz delivered the walk-off when his grounder deflected past third, scoring the winning run.
