Paint Truck Crash Leads to One Arrest on I-70 in Montgomery County

One man is in custody for multiple charges after an early morning crash in Montgomery County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash was a single vehicle incident where a tractor trailer rolled at about 1:48 a.m. on eastbound I-70 near the 166 mile marker. The vehicle was hauling 42,00 pounds of paint when the accident occurred.

The driver, 46-year-old Lonnie E. Britton of Middletown, Delaware, was arrested at the scene after being suspected of driving under the influence.

He faces potential charges of DWI and Careless and Imprudent Driving Involving a Crash.

MSHP was at the scene until 9 a.m. to clean up paint covering one of the lanes of traffic.
