Two Suspects Named in Columbia Standoff Tuesday

A Columbia man and woman were arrested Tuesday after a nearly three-hour standoff at a home near Fyfer Place and East Broadway.

Police say 23-year-old Ethan McCauley refused to come outside while officers attempted to serve a felony warrant tied to a previous weapons charge.

Officers also arrested 21-year-old Zoe Honovi, who police say obstructed their efforts to take McCauley into custody.

McCauley was arrested peacefully around 4 p.m. and faces charges including armed criminal action, resisting arrest and flight to avoid arrest.

SWAT, crisis negotiators and a Boone County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit assisted.

East Broadway was closed during the standoff, and police asked nearby residents to shelter in place.
