Columbia Standoff Suspect Faces Charges
The man at the center of a three-hour standoff Tuesday in a Columbia home is now facing charges tied to a May police pursuit.
Twenty-three-year-old Ethan McCauley is charged with armed criminal action, flight to avoid arrest and resisting arrest.
Court documents say deputies were called after McCauley allegedly arrived at a home with a firearm and a shot was heard.
Investigators say he then fled on a three-wheel motorcycle, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour before abandoning the vehicle and running into the woods.
McCauley later surrendered peacefully during Tuesday’s standoff.
He posted a 75-thousand-dollar bond and is due in court September 22.
