Mizzou Workers Unionize and Ask for Higher Wages

Workers and faculty for the University of Missouri rallied on Thursday afternoon demanding higher wages.

The rally occurred at Memorial Union on Missouri’s campus and was held by LiUNA Local 955, a branch of a labor union that represents over 70,000 public employees.

Workers, faculty, students and community members rallied, handing out flyers before the first home football game and demanded for the Board of Curators to pay all workers a $19 an hour minimum wage. They asked community members to stand with them in their fight.
