Body Recovered from Stephens Lake Park
A body was recovered Thursday afternoon from the lake at Stephens Lake Park in Columbia.
Police say a caller reported seeing a body near the shore.
Columbia police, crime scene investigators and the Columbia Fire Department responded and recovered the body.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased because next of kin had not yet been notified.
The department asked the public to avoid the park until further notice while investigators worked in the northeast area of the lake.
Police cleared the scene Thursday evening.
The investigation remains ongoing.
