Jeff City Police Identify Body Found in Missouri River Last Week
Authorities have identified the body found in the Missouri River near Jefferson City.
Detectives have announced that the body was that of 70-year-old Michael Belcher of Jefferson City. His next of kin has been notified.
The body was found on Friday, September 4 near the Noren River access, and an autopsy was performed earlier this week.
Detectives will continue to work with the Callaway County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death, but early indications show that there was likely no foul play involved.
