Suspect in Death of Kayla Huff has Trial Moved

One of the people charged in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Kayla Huff will have his trial heard in another county.

25-year-old Skyler Powell is charged with Hindering Prosecution of a Felony and will have his trial in Monroe County after allegedly helping to hide Alayna Mason, who is another suspect in the case in early May of 2026. Powell and Mason are two of five people charged in the incident.

Powell was being held without bond in the Randolph County Jail.
