Supreme Court Blocks Missouri’s New Congressional Map

The U.S. Supreme Court today straightened out the state’s congressional map issue. The court rejected a 2025 Missouri congressional map that was forced on the state by state Republicans and President Donald Trump. The rejection has led Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins, who fiercely supported the gerrymandered map, to announce today he will now use the old election map for the upcoming November elections.

That helped Hoskins avoid more serious consequences earlier this afternoon, when the Missouri Supreme Court found Hoskins was guilty on a contempt of court charge, for not using the old map in the August primaries. However, they purged Hoskins charges after he directed election officials to use the 2022 map

Incumbent Democratic candidate Emmanuel Cleaver will face off against Republican Rick Brittan

The U.S. Supreme Court has now issued judgements twice in this redistricting battle
