Huff Case Venue Changes

Two suspects charged in connection with the disappearance and death of 16-year-old Kayla Huff have had their cases moved out of Randolph County.

A judge approved a change of venue Friday for Hunter Ames, moving his case to Linn County. Ames faces charges including first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Skyler Powell’s case was also transferred, to Monroe County. He’s accused of hindering prosecution by allegedly hiding another suspect.

Meanwhile, Alayna Mason has requested a change of venue, with a hearing now set for September 30.

Huff disappeared from Moberly on May 6. Her body was found a week later at Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area.

Three other people also face charges in connection with her death.
