Columbia Man Charged With Child Molestation
A Columbia man is facing charges after police say he molested a child at Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary last week.
Court documents say 30-year-old Matthew McCoy allegedly followed a child riding a bicycle, grabbed the child, and touched them inappropriately.
Documents also accuse McCoy of chasing other people at Columbia parks, including incidents on June 11 and April 19, 2025.
McCoy was arrested Saturday and made his initial court appearance Monday. He is charged with second-degree child molestation of a child under 12 and is being held without bond in the Boone County Jail.
