Rural School Funding Town Hall Tonight
Mexico and North Callaway schools are hosting a town hall tonight on the future of rural school funding in Missouri.
The meeting runs from 6 to 7:30 at Emmons Hall in Mexico. School leaders say possible changes to the state’s funding formula could have a major impact on rural districts.
Mexico Schools Superintendent Dr. Troy Lentz encourages the community to come to the Town hall
Lentz says some districts could face a sharp funding loss if payments are shifted from 2006 enrollment numbers to current enrollment levels.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will include school-funding advocate Dwayne Martin and North Callaway Superintendent Dr. Kenya Thompson.
