A South Carolina man is now facing a murder charge in a decades-old Columbia cold case.
Forty-five-year-old Sentrell Wilson appeared in court Monday in connection to the 2000 death of MU student Candice Richie.
Wilson did not have an attorney and told the judge he didn’t know what to do, calling the situation “administrative kidnapping.” The judge explained how he can request a public defender.
Wilson was indicted earlier this year after the case was reopened in 2025.
He’s being held without bond and could face life in prison.
His arraignment is now set for May 18.
