Deputy-Involved Shooting in Fulton
A Fulton woman was shot by a Callaway County sheriff’s deputy Saturday night following a pursuit and an alleged threat involving a gun.
Twenty-nine-year-old Sydney Akers faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault, armed criminal action and driving while intoxicated with a prior offense.
Authorities say the pursuit ended on State Road F, where Akers allegedly refused commands to exit her vehicle and claimed she had a gun. A deputy then shot her.
Akers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was later booked into the Callaway County Jail.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
