Cole County Deputy Hurt in Crash

A Cole County sheriff’s deputy and three others were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon on Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City.

According to a Jefferson City police report, the deputy was responding to an emergency with lights and sirens activated when a Dodge Journey moved into a left-turn lane to pass another vehicle.

The deputy’s Ford Explorer struck the Dodge, then continued forward and hit a Jeep Compass.

The deputy suffered moderate injuries, while the other three people involved sustained minor injuries.

Jefferson City police are investigating the crash.
