MDC Announces New Permit Rules
The Missouri Department of Conservation will require permits at its unstaffed shooting ranges and conservation area campgrounds beginning in March 2027.
The Missouri Conservation Commission approved both changes October 23rd in Cape Girardeau.
Shooters will need a valid small-game hunting permit to use more than thirty-five unstaffed ranges.
Lt. Matt Bergfield, area agent supervisor with MDC explains what the expectation is for hunting permits being required…
Annual permits for Missouri residents start at eleven dollars and fifty cents. Existing age and disability exemptions will remain.
Groups larger than ten will need a special-use permit. Campers will be limited to three consecutive permits and six per year.
M-D-C says the changes are intended to improve safety, reduce vandalism and litter, and better manage conservation areas.
