The St. Louis Cardinals were hoping to make it through the off-season unscathed. That hasn’t happened. After over 10 years as a member of the Cardinals front office and more recently as the club’s director of scouting, Randy Flores has accepted a position to become the new General Manager of the Houston Astros.

The 51-year-old Flores was hired Friday as the 15th general manager in the Astro’s franchise history. Flores will be introduced as the new GM during a Monday press conference in Houston.
