The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the person shot by an officer in Moberly yesterday afternoon. [Tuesday]
Authorities say 37 year old Joseph Ritter began acting erratically when officers responded to 406 Carpenter Street in Moberly for a keeping the peace call.
Ritter went to the kitchen and retrieved a knife and moved toward the officer in a threatening manner. The officer then shot Ritter.
The suspect is listed in serious but stable condition at University Hospital. The officer was not injured.
