SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain is now offering 3D mammography technology to aid in earlier detection.
Kristy Hopper, manager of medical imaging services for the hospital says 3D Mammography allows the radiologist to better distinguish masses or tissues that could be cancerous.
The American Cancer Society recommends annual screening and breast examination for women beginning at age 40.
