Cooper County Deputies are investigating after a child died of a gun shot wound on Saturday.
Upon arrival officers found a 12 year old boy deceased from his wounds.
The sheriff’s office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are working to piece together the events leading to the child’s death.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
