Another scam is going in the Columbia area this time involving the Boone Electric Cooperative.
According to a press release from the Coop, scam artists are using the company phone number and demanding payment for late bills and threatening victims with immediate disconnect if they do not give them their payment information.
The Coop is reminding folks they do not handle payments over the phone, and if you are doubtful give them a call.
