The Callaway County Ambulance District will be looking to hire four people after announcing they will be going to a twenty four hour crew starting tomorrow (Friday).
According to the director the closing of the Fulton Medical Center is prompting the change.
Currently the district has a 12 hour truck however an increased call volume and transports to hospitals in Columbia and Jefferson City shows the need to have more ambulances available twenty four hours a day.
The district estimates the total cost to increase coverage will be about one hundred eighty five thousand dollars per year.
