Jefferson City Business Owner Indicted

A Jefferson City business owner has been indicted by a federal grand jury for tax evasion and owing more than 400 thousand dollars in payroll taxes.

The 11 count indictment alleges 53 year old Gina Volmert withheld payroll taxes from employee’s paychecks but only made partial payments to the IRS.

Between 2012 and 2014, Volmert reportedly decreased her income by fraudulently shifting income to reimbursable expenses, and submitted 6300 dollars in reimbursable expenses every 2 weeks to conceal her income.
