The Hallsville School Board met earlier this week and discussed propositions for the April 3rd ballot.
Proposition 1 features 5 individuals vying for 2 three year terms on the Board of Education. Voters will choose 2 candidates between incumbents Jassica Hassler and David Athon, or Tonya Schleeter, Mike Hamilton and Paul Scheetz.
Also on the ballot will be a proposition for a no tax rate increase bond to construct 8 to 12 additional classrooms and a gymnasium at Hallsville Primary to address district overcrowding.
Additionally, the board intends to purchase 1.42 acres on Ricketts Road near campus to utilize for campus maintenance, provide space for the wrestling program and other purposes. The bond amount will be 7 million dollars.
