KXEO Sports Report for 1/27/18

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs lost to a very tough Boonville Pirates team 52-36 on the road last (Friday) night.  Adria Costley finished the night with 11 points.  The Lady Dogs fell to under five hundred with a record of 8-9 overall and are 4-3 in NCMC.  The Boonville Pirates remained undefeated going to 8-0 in the conference.


The Mexico Boys Basketball team held on for a 61-59 win against the Boonville Pirates.  The Pirates made it interesting down the stretch with 3.6 seconds remaining Pirate Semaj Clark was fouled in the act of shooting a three point attempt, which he made.  He missed the free throw and Mexico held on for the victory.  Tyler Spargo led the Bulldogs with 17 points, followed by Jai Lawson, and Mathew Huffman with 11 points.  Mexico will be on the road against Marshall on February 2nd.


In other high school basketball the North Callaway Girls lost to Clopton 35-27.


Missouri Tigers Men’s Basketball Team has indefinitely suspended Terence Phillips from the program.

According to a statement from the Mizzou Men’s Basketball Program the suspension is due to a violation of team policy, and Philip’s status with them will depend on campus and department leadership.


Missouri Tigers Men’s Basketball Team will be on the road tonight (Saturday) for a game against Mississippi State with a 7:30 tip. Listen to the game live on AM 1340 KXEO.
