JCPD Says No One In Danger In Middle School Threat

The Jefferson City Police Department has issued an update on a threat at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

According to the department, investigators have completed the preliminary investigation into the incident, in which a student allegedly stated he would bring a gun to school.


In the statement, police say the student was upset at several things and was sharing that frustrations with a classmate, and the threats were overheard and shared on social media.

There has been no evidence uncovered that the student intended to carry out the threat, and police feel that no one at the school was in jeopardy of being harmed.

Paperwork on the incident has been submitted to juvenile authorities.
