Fulton Man To Spend 7 years in Federal Prison

A 38 year old Fulton man was sentenced to 7 years in federal prison without parole for his role in a 6.6 million dollar synthetic marijuana conspiracy.

Justin Lee Houston admitted to participating in money laundering.

Houston and Raja Nawaz of Roseville California also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud.

Nawaz sold the synthetic marijuana to several businesses in Callaway County, and they were labeled as potpourri, incense or aromatherapy.

Several others from Mid-Missouri have also been sentenced in this case. Timothy Sandfort, Joshua Sheets, Shawn Browning and Brandon Radar, all of Fulton were sentenced to 3 months in prison.

Dara Shirley of Fulton received 5 years probation.
