KXEO Sports Report for 4/18/18: Baseball Wins for Mizzou, and St. Louis, Royals Swept in Doubleheader

The Missouri Tigers baseball team picked up a 5-3 win over Chicago State yesterday (Wednesday).

Mizzou’s Senior right fielder Trey Harris cranked his sixth home run of the season, hitting a two run blast over the left field fence in the bottom of the third to spark the Tigers offense.

The St. Louis Cardinals defeated their division rival Chicago Cubs 5-3 at Wrigley Field last (Tuesday) night.

Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright looked sharp despite the cold weather, throwing five shutout innings.

The Redbirds have now won 5 consecutive games.


The Kansas City Royals swept in a double header against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Game one an 11-3 loss, and a 5-4 loss in the second contest.

The Royals are now 3-12 on the year and have lost seven in a row.
