Missing Man Found In Missouri River

A man reported missing in Callaway County on March 11 was found dead in the Missouri River yesterday afternoon. [Wednesday]

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding a suicidal subject in the Holts Summit area in March

The man, identified as Timothy Moon, was believed to have gone to the Mokane River Access, where his abandoned truck was found. After an exhaustive search, Moon was not located.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man tangled in fishing lines just west of the bridge in Hermann yesterday.

The Montgomery County Deputies, along with several other agencies, retrieved the remains and the coroner declared Timothy Moon dead at the scene.

According to investigators, it appears Moon had been in the water for several weeks.

The body was taken to the Boone County Medical Examiners Office for the gathering of forensic evidence and to determine the cause of death.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri Division of Drug and Crime Control is continuing to investigate.
