Mexico’s only Sports Talk Show is back at 8:30 this (Saturday) morning on AM 1340 KXEO. It is a full program with a featured interview Missouri Tigers Football all time wins leader Coach Gary Pinkel. Coach Pinkel joins the program to talk about his book, how he recruited Mexico’s own Dedrick Harrington, and an update on his health.
Then Ehren Earlywhine talks to the Buzzer Beater about his new role overseeing athletics for the Jefferson City Public Schools. Earlywhine talks about his new role and the task of hiring coaches at the new high school being built in Jefferson City.
Mexico High School Girls Basketball Coach Ed Costley gives an update on proposed rules changes in the Missouri State High School Athletic Association for basketball. Coach Costley is the representative for the North Central Missouri District and attends the meetings once a year. One such change being proposed is shortening the length of the season.
The programs ends with a round table discussion. A special guest joins in the discussion this (Saturday) morning. Mexico High School Football Coach Steve Haag is seated at the round table. Coach Haag talks about his time playing at Mizzou under Coach Larry Smith. Also Mathew Pilger, Michael Daugherty, and Coach Haag go round the table talking about the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, Missouri Tigers Basketball and Football.
