The bodies of two Columbia residents on a hiking trip in Alaska were recovered yesterday afternoon. [Monday]
Rochelle Renken and Michael Huffman, both 62, were found along the Sanford River. Footprints near the water were indicative of two people attempting a water crossing.
The pair was last seen by the pilot of their charter plane that dropped them off near the river on June 22.
The couple’s gear was found scattered across a seven mile stretch along the river.
Their deaths appear to be accidental, and autopsies for Renken and Huffman are scheduled.
