The Fulton Police Department is releasing more details on an animal rescue that took place in the 600 block of Grand Street yesterday [Thursday] afternoon.
According to the police, there was a total of 137 animals taken from the home, that is now condemned.
The animals included 57 quail, 41 chickens, 2 lambs and 5 hedgehogs, as well as dogs, parakeets, a bearded dragon and a snake.
Also found in the home were 6 dead animals. Four were rabbits and 2 were chickens.
Fifty year old Melissa Baxter was issued a citation for animal abuse and neglect.
The rescued animals are being evaluated for any medical conditions.
The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are pending.
