The City of Mexico has closed Bass Street to thru traffic overnight.
The road was scheduled for a partial closure for sewer repairs, but due to the hole in the roadway needing to be larger than expected, a complete closure became necessary for safety reasons.
Residents of the area will still have access to their homes.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
