Suspect In Decades Old Murder Gets Change Of Venue

Martin Priest, the man charged with Capitol Murder in the case of Tammy Sue Rothganger who went missing in 1984, has been granted a change of venue.

Priest was allegedly the live-in boyfriend of Rothganger’s mother at the time of her disappearance. It was reported Priest picked up Rothganger at the Eldon High School on the last day she was seen.

When Priest was charged in 2016, he was serving a life sentence for the Christmas Day murder of 25 year old William Mayhugh in 1984, months after being released after a successful appeal for the murder of 12 year old Tonya Lewis of Nevada, Missouri.

Priest’s most recent trial will now be held in Laclede County.
